Falcon Studios: Best Men & Str8 Men
We couldn't continue our special series of spotlighting websites, videos, etc without taking another look at what's going on at Falcon Studios this summer. Yes, it's true we've already reviewed most of the new Falconreleases in the first installment of this series, but we couldn't overlook what's been going on with Falcon's growing online presence.
The big news is the release of that much-talked about scene with Matthew Rush & Zeb Atlas from the upcoming Falcon flick Best Men Part 1: The Bachelor Party. Yes, you can see the hot tub scene for yourself by purchasing it from the Falcon site as a download for a $9.50 (or $4.75 for members). Whether or not it was planned this way, this controversial scene showcases the rest of the Falcon online video store. Here you can download and keep your favorite Falcon video scenes. The Atlas/Rush scene was filmed in HD and it's DRM-free and Mac-compatible.
The gay blogs have been "discussing" this scene for awhile now and it is possible that Falcon decided to release it to take advantage of the buzz in advance of the video's full release in September in order. In doing so Falcon is going the route of Hot House Backroom (releasing scenes online before the DVD release) or this could be a test to see if this method is feasible. On the other hand The new FalconXXX site does offer a chance to view (on demand) full videos before they are released (Roman's Holiday being the current offering). There are differences between the two studios on their membership deals. While you do pay extra to download the scenes from Falcon, you do get to own them. Hot House Backroom doesn't charge extra but the videos are not downloadable.
We've seen the Rush & Atlas scene and can tell you it's very good although it is not for everyone. It's definitely for those into muscle worship themes and guys with big bulging muscles. It's surprisingly sensuous (you have to give credit to Matthew Rush for this) although it's noticeable that Zeb Atlas isn't a kisser (then again he isn't much of a kisser in the straight videos we've seen either). If there was any tension between the two actors it doesn't make it on to the screen--both Rush & Atlas show their professionalism. Matthew Rush does service Zeb Atlas and gets him off and you think that's about all that Atlas will do, but the big guy does give Rush a "helping hand" to get off. It gets a little verbal too so if you're familiar with Matthew Rush's other films you may want to watch your volume controls at the end. We're sure that this scene fits into the plot of Best Men, but it doesn't need any into and can be enjoyed separately.
Elsewhere at Falcon, we have to say that Falcon Str8 Men has come a long way since it first launched. It was worth joining right from the start but Falcon has made considerable effort to even more viable and competitive. Falcon Str8 Men has gone beyond straight guy solo videos and spiced it up considerably with toys, guys getting off together, and now some oral sex scenes. We've noted that may be going the route of Falcon Str8 Men features many guys seen at other sites which we view as a good thing--more opportunities to see hot guys doing their thing. So it looks like Falcon Str8 Men is going to continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
