Big Brother 10: Brains vs Brawn

At this point it appears that Big Brother 10 may be successful at bringing us back as fans of this guilty pleasure. Granted, we've only had two episodes so far episodes and caught some live feeds (including Big Brother After Dark on Showtime) but it looks like going back to basics has proven to be the right formula for straightening out the show. It doesn't necessarily mean we won't see some game twists down the line, but at least the producers have avoided casting twists that have turned promising seasons into train wrecks. In a way, the disastrous winter edition Big Brother 9 may have been a goof catalyst.

Once the live eviction happens tonight and a new "head of household" is crowned we may be closer to deciding who we like and don't like and who we think has a good shot at winning. But right now we're still trying to figure it all out so our opinions today could do a complete turn tomorrow.

First, there's 22-year old hunk of muscle Jessie. He's not stupid but he isn't thinking before he talks or acts. Granted his beauty already made him a target but he should have blown off the annoying Renny instead of throwing gasoline on the fire. He muscled his way to getting the power of veto and saving himself but he'd be foolish to relax and not think he'd be a target next time.  He needs to loosen up and be more friendly but he better do it fast while we still get to look at his hot bod.

Oh yes, one more thing about Jessie. As we mentioned before, he's appeared on a site called Strengthnet. It's all about fitness models and bodybuilders--it's as homoerotic as it gets without being gay. We visit the site often (like any functioning gay male should) and in spite of his newfound, possibly fleeting, fame Jessie Godderz wasn't getting spotlighted. We figured that Strengthnet would be trying to cash in on his appearances. Well we spoke too soon. Repetrope/USA Musclewhich puts out workout and bodybuilding DVDs has joined forces with Strengthnet to put out a workout video featuring Jessie and another hot muscle guy Ward. Aptly titled the Ward & Jessie Workout it features the two guys in the gym, lifting weights, pushing each other, flexing and posing, etc. You know, just like all gyms that allow guys to work out shirtless. So, if you're putting Jessie on your DVR you can just as easily catch him here.

Renny. Ugh. What a fuss she's making. Everyone seems to dislike here but only Jessie has been foolish enough to let her know. Imagine a party girl who should have left the party years ago and that's Renny. Also not too smart. She's antagonized Jesse with her remarks about his being a baby (honey, he's only 22, what did you expect?) and a liar. On this last matter SHE is more guilty than Jessie. After all the supposed "sincere" apology she made to the muscle boy was tinged with sarcasm.

Memphis. Jury still out on him but at least he is playing the game as smartly as possible. But please, drop the "mixologist" moniker!  He and Jesse seem to have bonded which is good for both. We'll see how it holds up.

Steven. Very cute gay cowboy, but not so sure about where his head is at. He and liberal Libra have butted heads and he's made a oddly bigoted remarks. Then the poor fool has aligned himself with Dan, the misogynist ant-liberal. Bad choice Steven! Dan is on the short list of people the majority want out.

April & Keesha. The two blondes have become vocal enemies and have jeopardized the alliance they're in with Libra, Ollie, and Michelle. Actually alliances are shifting about frequently here---by the weekend everything could all be different again.  More on this later.
