FabScout Takes Over

We've just learned that Florida-based adult star talent agency FabScout Entertainment has officially acquired west coast agency David Forest Entertainment. For those of you who don't know about these two entities (and may not even care) we can assure you that this is big news and it already has far-reaching implications.

The acquisition was announced at press conference at the Universal Hilton with both parties in attendance as well as a cross-section of gay stars, producers, etc. At the event Forest announced his retirement (or as he called it an hiatus) after 27 years in the biz. Head of FabScout Howard Andrew announced his company would open a west coast office and spend some time here.

FabScout Entertainment represents over 100 adult film stars and models and has been rivals with David Forest Entertainment for quite some time. With this acquisition FabScout will take over all the representation of talent (film, online, and live appearances) found at Forest Men. This includes Zeb Atlas, Johnny Castle, Tyler Saint, Tony Capucci and others that have made it big in the industry. What it all means is that now FabScout will represent probably the biggest pool of stars in the gay adult industry.

Of course any news story that involves David Forest just has to have some controversy, right? After all he's always been a colorful figure in the adult film industry--and that's putting it mildly. Many of his exploits have been chronicled elsewhere so it would be a little redundant to recap them all here. But we WILL tell you about some of the tasty tidbits from the news conference.

--Forest mentioned that after a few months he might return to the industry, possibly for managing special events. No mention was made of any legal problems that have been rumored.

--Howard Andrew doesn't plan on making any sweeping changes and in fact wants to keep it consistent. He too hinted that Forest isn't really going away or as he put it  "he'll always be around in one form or another." But he followed this up with a sarcastic quip  "as all you guys know, it's hard to kill the devil." Hmm.

--Regarding the controversy over Zeb Atlas' scene with Matthew Rush in the Falcon film Best Men, Forest was
characteristically blunt. He stated that Zeb isn't interested in working with Rush in a full-on sex scene so apparently the rumors of post-scene friction were true. Forest suggested that for Zeb's second scene Falcon get Roman Heart or Erik Rhodes. So the saga goes on.

--Forest finished up the event by stating that maybe he has stayed in the ever-changing biz too long. He even referred to himself and Howard Andrew in glowing terms-- "I’m a class act and Howard is classy" with the suggestion that maybe the industry needed to raise its bar to this level. Yes, controversial to the end (if there is one)
