Splish Splash: More News
Once again we've got a few newsy tidbits of info that we've come across within the last few days. Nothing earth-shattering mind you--just more proof that the more things change, the more they remain the same.
Among the people who got hitched a few weeks when California allowed same-sex marriage was adult star Tyler Saint. It hasn't exactly made the news but we'd like to offer our congrats to Tyler anyway. When we placed Tyler Saint on our Jack Manly Men listing last year we considered it a no brainer even though he had few films released at the time. We were acquainted with him well before he got into the adult industry so we had a very strong hunch about his impending success. We even received kind words of gratitude from Tyler himself so we knew we had made a good decision. But even we couldn't predict that Tyler would be as prolific as he's been. He's been in an amazing percentage of hot films from just about every studio. If we haven't been diligent about keeping his filmography updated you can blame him for making so many movies.
We don't know of anyone (except for the ever eager Mason Wyler) that might be doing more films than Tyler Saint but it sure seems like one new guy is at least making the news. Yes, we're talking about David Dakota again. When he showed up on Chaos Men last week (as Holt) site host Bryan Ockert mentioned that he had signed with several studios. We just learned that one of them is Buckshot/Colt and the film is Splish Splash due out this summer. It sounds like another of those pool-themed flicks that every studio likes to release at this time of year. And why not? They save money on wardrobe and don't have to worry about hot lights or make-up. Splish Splash not only features David Dakota in his second water-themed flick (see Hot House's Trunks 5) but it also features the above-mentioned Mason Wyler, Jonathan Lowe, Andrew Blue, Jherrad Lopez, Guy Parker, Kurt Wild, and Max Shutler. Unless we're mistaken each of these has appeared on "amateur sites" or in some cases started out there.
Dereck aka Manuel DeBoxer Rocky Houston Dylan Wood
Besides David Dakota there are a few more names to add to the list of guys who've made the jump from online video sites to studio films---Dylan Wood, Rocky Houston, and Manuel DeBoxer. We know several of you complain about studios casting but realistically it makes perfect sense. The studios don't have to make audition tapes since they already exist. And in many cases these guys come to the studios with a built-in fan base.
Dylan Wood and Rocky Houston are featured in the upcoming Jet Set Men film Hung Country For Young Men (oh those clever guys!). No, it's not the porn version of the Coen Brothers' Oscar winner but it does have some similarities. Dylan Wood is from College Dudes 24/7 (where he was Dillon Woode) and Rocky Houston was in six videos at Randy Blue. Incidentally the film also features Rod Daily & Trystian Sweet (both seen at Suite 703's Hot Jocks Nice Cocks, Men Hard At Work, & My Brother's Hot Friend) and Kevin Cavalli who has appeared several places but we think has done his hottest work at our fave Cocky Boys.
Manuel DeBoxer recently started doing work for Raging Stallion, having come from Maskurbate where he appeared simply as Dereck (and plans on doing more videos). He's got an upcoming scene with star RJ Danvers and will-co-star with him in the two-part cowboy-themed To The Last Man. French-Canadian Manuel DeBoxer definitely gets RJ Danvers seal of approval. He's mentioned several times and has posted pics at his blog.
