Cheyenne Jackson Wins OUR Award

Okay, it's not quite time for the Tony Awards yet--it's not happening until June 15th. But we did want to take the opportunity to express our dismay that while Xanadu was nominated in the Best Musical category, and Kerry Butler was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical, our fave Cheyenne Jackson was NOT nominated. Even if the Tony judges weren't smart enough to recognize Cheyenne we are and are playing tribute here.
As we mentioned we had to great fortune to catch Xanadu and Cheyenne Jackson truly made this musical. And he was (and is) one of the most personable people (and talented) that you will run across. He has stood up for Xanadu at every turn and mentioned on his website the four nominations it did receive even though he was not nominated. That's class.
That's the downside of this blog entry.
On the upside we've got lots of good stuff to report about the handsome openly gay actor. As we mentioned before he's in a movie in production right now. Shifting the Canvas is an ensemble piece about a group of artists and friends living in a post 9/11 Brooklyn neighborhood. Cheyenne Jackson, Alan Cumming, Christian Campbell, Margaret Cho, Scott Thompson and others star.
Also, we're appy to report that Cheyenne Jackson has a very busy June & July ahead.
-- On June 9 Cheyenne, Dr. Mathilde Krim, David Bohnett, Hal Luftig, Peter Staley, and Marissa Jaret Winokur, will Co-Chair amfAR's 9th annual Honoring with Pride Gala at the Hudson Hotel.
-- On Friday June 12 Cheyenne will be a guest on Live with Regis & Kelly.
--On Sat June 13 Cheyenne will be a guest on The CBS Early Show.
-- On June 17 Cheyenne will serve on the Benefit Committee for the Whitney Museum: Art Party
-- Best of all from July 5 - 27 Cheyenne will play Joe Hardy in Encores! Damn Yankees at City Center. For more information visit Playbill.com or to purchase tickets visit NY City Center.
Now we know we aren't the only ones that are somewhat smitten with the talented, handsome, well-built, crystal blue eyed....oh, you get the picture. Here's a clip that should serve as an example featuring Nathan Lane. And to Cheyenne Jackson, if you happen to get wind of our blog, we send our best wishes and salute you.
