We're All Angels

We covered a lot of ground in our blog entries about upcoming gay programming on TV, but we purposely left out something that was so important both cinematically and personally that it deserved a blog entry of its own. Premiering June 12 on Showtime is We're All Angels a fascinating, entertaining. and important documentary that warrants your attention.

We're All Angels is the story of Christian pop music stars Jason & deMarco who record in Texas and do concerts around the country in schools and churches while striving to break into mainstream pop. The catch? The handsome and sexy pair are openly gay and they're lovers. The film is a story of their lives both personally and professionally--juggling their romance, their career and the hostility they face from all sides.

Directed by Robert Nunez, the film is as multi-layered as it sounds. It's a love story, an examination of civil rights, the role of spirituality in our lives, the power of art and music in our lives, and more. The film is as entertaining as it is thought-provoking and we can't recommend it enough. We are privileged to know the director personally and know how much this is literally a labor love for him. Even if we did not have a connection to Robert we would still recommend this film for anyone who appreciates filmmmaking at its best.

The good news is that Showtime is showing the film more than once. We're All Angels airs on June 15, 17, 19 and most importantly it's available "on demand" through July 10.

We've also included links to the music of Jason & deMarco. Yes, the guys are as prolific as they are dedicated.
