Make Me a Super Scandal

One of the things we like about Make Me a Super Model is that it very current because it relies on viewer voting. There's also less danger of finding information leaked on the web. Nevertheless we do issue this caveat---if you haven't seen this week's show we are going to provide some spoilers.

First up was the elimination as the remaining models were back at their townhouse pondering the results. Holly & Shannon had a guys vs girls discussion with Perry, who continued to be a tad irritating. It really wasn't much of surprise to see Frankie get voted off and there didn't seem to be anyone heartbroken over the loss. But the numbers game has now gotten interesting.

There was a GQ party where they were to dress up and "network". The guys were more open to it, but the girls were less sociable--although working their looks. Here's where we saw another of the episode's themes--Who is Shannon? And we asked ourselves that too and we have a theory----more on that in a bit. But to everyone, including the judges she lacks openness in her social skills although she brings it to the competitions. And her anti-guy attitude was clearer when she and Holly made a cake for Nikki's birthday bash. In fact both girls were very dismissive of the guys and their present for Nikki--an a capella birthday song.

The first real competition was a video shoot where the models were given vague dialog-free "plots" and they had to improvise using body language. They were all "cast" in different scenarios with one another and the "actor" in Perry came out in unattractive bursts.  There was one scene where two lovers were supposed to do demonstrate lust and then walk to the bedroom and the photographer took the suggestion to put Ben and Ronnie together. Being that there's already sexual tension here this pairing didn't quite work. However, Ben and Holly worked better---thanks to Holly. Here and as the episode moved on, Holly has clearly emerged as the favorite to win it all. But it was Shannon and Perry who emerged as the photographer's favorites. Poor Casey found himself taking out of several shots, bruising his fragile ego.

The next competition involved the models going to Bloomingdale's and modeling outfits for a brunch crowd. In addition they were supposed to sell the outfits they were given. Suddenly Ben has become quite arrogant and decided not to participate in this!? The girls modeled oak but the guys did a better job of selling. Perry had to calmed down (again), Ronnie recuperated from a pre-show faux pas of using the word "polyester" in his verbal description and gave the Bloomies coordinator joy by making eye contact with the potential customers. This enthusiastic woman was ecstatic with the models.

The final catwalk featured the models wearing two vintage clothing outfits and accessories. Frankly the guys had a harder job because the guys really had limitations to their ability to present what were essentially vintage suits and tuxedos. We thought Ronnie at least tried to bring a 1930s stylishness to his first outfit but it wound up being not so popular with at least one judge. As for that judging the girls were at the top (again) and the guys were all facing the bottom. Again, Ben showed an ugly side by arguing with Tyson. So it was obvious that he would be "up for the vote". And given how Casey did earlier we figured he'd be up too. But the next part was surprising. Overall we thought Ronnie did better than Perry and Ronnie even got compliments for his drive and desire. But it was Perry who was safe. Poor Ronnie at the bottom again. BUT......Ben sabotaged himself this week and it's doubtful he'll get more votes than Ronnie. This time we won't be sorry to see him go---he's just turned into an anti-model.

Oh yes, Shannon. The judges gave her a pass this week because of her work skills which overshadowed her closed off personality. So we again ask--who is this person? Why so closed off?  We had a theory---is it possible she's transgender? Lesbian? She definitely said at the beginning of the season she has male traits.
It would be quite a twist if she revealed something like this.

Then there was Perry drama. A mysterious call with his girlfriend Amanda had him reeling. Fortunately, we the audience learned that she is involved in the current Britney tabloid scandal. Although she professed innocence to Perry to something that he has no idea about, apparently she's alleged to be the other woman in the Adnan & Britney "break-up".  Ughh---we have been purposely avoiding all the Spears family "news" and here it snakes its way into our reality shows!.

So will Perry freak out not knowing what's going on? Will he get Amanda to tel him more? (she hung up on him!)
Will Ronnie stop trying to overthink and get over Ben? More to come......
