The GayVN Awards are being held this weekend in SF (not without some slight controversy, see below) but some awards have already been handed out in the past week. They include the Cybersocket Awards and the XBIZ Awards. While the XBIZ Awards cover the entire adult industry there are a few awards given in the GLBT category. The Cybersocket Awards are ALL gay and the nominations, votes and awards are in two divisions: "industry" and "web surfer".  We have the results as follows:

It seems the XBIZ Awards were fairly equitable given the small amount of GLBT categories. We'll see if the winners here are an indication of what's to come.

  In this second "People's Choice" type division, we see that fans were also very equitable in their decisions.
For the most part we see our choices reflect those of popular opinion. It's gratifying to see that quality sites have maintained their popularity and that there are some newer sites are getting the recognition they deserve. Then again, there are some choices that we thought for sure people would be tired of.

 As we mentioned, the GayVN Awards will be held on Saturday February 16 with a little controversy in tow. Last year Kathy Griffin hosted the awards at the Castro Theater (as shown on My Life on the D-List), but the awards committee did not sign her again supposedly because of her high asking price. This year the event will be held at the Gift Center and will be hosted by Lady Bunny. Not so coincidentally, Kathy Griffin will be performing on the same night and at the Castro Theater.  Oh, the decisions the gays in SF will have to make this weekend!
