Project Runway: Ferocia Coutura LIves!

We at Jack Manly have to give proper credit to the producers of Project Runway for really creating challenging challenges for the designers this season.  And for the FOURTH time, they did not work with their own models. Sure, there was whining (again) but surprisingly, no tears!

The designers were once again taken on a field  trip---this time only an elevator ride away to a room where from outside it sounded like rough sexual activity was going on--in other words a porno movie. Inside they saw female wrestlers going at it in a ring. The challenge? To create new outfits for the Divas of the WWE. Now these women are not porn actresses, contrary to their looks. And they aren't bodybuilders. But they are all very well put together women in great shape. Even the guys who are left were pretty blown away.

The designers got to choose their Divas who all turned out to be very enthusiastic and gay friendly, in a drag queen sort of way--especially Chris March's choice Maria. She was like a gay dream come true---into leopard skin prints (just like him). Christian got Kristal who was into leather and lace. Jillian got Michelle McCool, All American girl into sports. Ricky (who picked first) chose Layla L- a funky dancer. Rami got Tory Wilson, the girl next door  (sort of a Barbie doll type), And dear Sweet P wound of with Candice Michelle, current WWE champ aka The Sex Kitten (complete with a signature robe that she pulls open dramatically for a big reveal)

The designers did their shopping at some spandex store and went to work. Right from the start Sweet P had trouble because she just didn't get it. Jillian whined that this was a challenge skewed more towards the men (boo hoo!). Christian went for something "fierce" again. Rami used hot pink, Chris created an leopard print fantasy complete with hoodie. And Ricky created an orange swimsuit-like piece with gold accents and a gold robe. In other words--HIDEOUS!

There were some moments of great fun during this one. Sweet P and Christian arm wrestled (Christian won). Poor Sweet P had a client who wanted tons of tackiness but the designer had some cute remarks. Then she, Chris and Christian created diva names for themselves. Sweet P picked Spread Eagle, Chris picked Wonder Woman ("she smothers men with her large breasts") and Christian picked Ferocia Coutura ("her move is that she spray hair spray in the eyes of the other girls")

The end results were decidedly mixed although only one diva (Candice Michelle) was vocal about it. Those girls REALLY worked the runway (or as Christian remarked at the very beginning "Work ! It! Out!") The guest judges were Heatherette designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains (tacky clothes!)

Chris
won. His model was very enthusiastic and all the judges remarked his looked the most expensive given the $100 budget. Christian seemed to get second (his diva loved her outfit too!) place, Jillian third. They all pretty much hated Rami's in color alone, but he was spared leaving it down to Sweet P and Ricky. Alas Ricky was eliminated  and surprisingly didn't shed tears! We're surprised he lasted this long.

So next week Christian gets under Jillian's skin and after that it's final four. Right now we're thinking it's going to be Rami, Christian, Sweet P , and Jillian. BUT, that Chris March could be a wild card. Oh the tension!
