Love in Bloom

Carlo and Adam                                                                       Aden & Jordan Jaric

It used to be that we heard very little about the personal and romantic lives of male pornsters. Thanks to the internet and blogging it seems we know lots more about these guys and in some cases they reveal more than they should, wiping away any mystique that may surround their personae. Lately there's been lots of news about pornster couples.

We have no idea what it must really be like to date someone who does male erotica regardless of whether both partners are in the biz. It may be easier to meet someone in the industry but we don't know how many of these couples manage to survive when there has to be some jealousy issues involved.  Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't.

Couple Carlo Masi and Adam Champ have announced that they have not renewed their exclusive contract with COLT Studios. Their posting seemed to reflect an amicable departure and they gave lots of praise to COLT and their years there. But apparently now this happy muscle couple will be going freelance. We don't know exactly what will happen with their COLT websites which are still up. From the way it sounds being a happy couple at COLT seems to be easy to handle. Luke Garrett and Gage Weston have been together a number of years and have "acted" with other models yet seem to be in bliss. You sure get that impression when you read their BigMuscle profiles---Luke is known as MidwesternMuscle and Gage is U.S. muscle.

By the way, you'll find quite a few pornster profiles on BigMuscle as well as their partner profiles. In some cases there are links to their blogs and personal websites where you can learn lots more. They include Jake Deckard (MR DECKARD), Ty Lebeouf (Cajuncub), Tyler Saint, Vin Marco, Zeb Atlas, Adriano Marquez, Michael Knight, Jason Ridge, and Matthew Rush (The Name is Greg), among others. By the way, in our JackManly interview with Matthew Rush, he revealed it was a lot easier to date WITHIN the industry than outside of it.  Although he is partnered now, Rush has had notable pairings with fellow actors Ethan Kage and Tyler Riggz.

One of the more unique situations that's arisen in the last year was when a real life couple got into the biz AS a couple. We're talking about Aden & Jordan Jaric who starred in and have been nominated for the debut film from Falcon-- Endless Crush. They joined Falcon as "joint exclusive models" but are open to performing with other stars.  This will be interesting to see if this plays out successfully.

Speaking of Falcon one of the most talked about couplings is that of Roman Heart and Benjamin Bradley. They
were a couple, then had a well-publicized break-up. Then Bradley was involved with another pornster Ethan Reynolds and they became a bit of a power couple as the main models of the hot Ginch Gonch underwear and with a blog they did together. When these two broke up it was in a very public manner. Lots of back and forth on their blogs before and after it was over. Since then Benjamin and Roman have not only gotten back together--they're engaged! Sounds like Richard Burton and Liz Taylor all over again.

Blogs are often a way for male pornsters get de-objectified when companies, fans and even themselves have done the opposite.  Sometmes they really pour out their hearts and souls and spill their guts. We've seen Spencer Quest's difficuult struggles play out in his blog and read some interesting and sensitively insightful musings on the blogs of Jason Ridge. And we've already mentioned how Mason Wyler (along with his non-pornstar bf ) has chronicled his daily life and his thoughts on his MySpace page.

                                                                            Danny & Erik--together no more

Most recently the blog that seems to been attracting the most press is Slipping Away by Falcon superstar Erik Rhodes. He used his blog as a catharsis over his harsh break up with MTV reality personality Dan Dias. And he's lashed out (rightfully so) at bloggers, the press, and those who've used his pain to somehow try and get into his pants. We have to admire his balls for putting his thoughts out there in cyberspace and trying to make sense of it all. Now, we're not about to take cheap shots at Danny Dias, but he's admitted in interviews that he has a short fuse. When he first appeared on MTV's Road Rules hewas the sweet, kinda geeky gay dude who got voted off. When he returned for a Real World/Road Rules challenge he was a mean, muscled up unpleasant guy (sorry dude, you were) that sparked rumors of 'roid use. Well from what we read on Erik Rhodes' blog mean Danny wasn't a temporary thing.

So we ask the question--can love and/or sanity survive in the world of porn? Can one find success outside of this world? We're paying atttention to find the answer.
