While 2007 may be over officially, there will be much more written by us at JackManly and by other sites and blogs reviewing the past year. It's only natural to look back to try and put the past year into some sort of perspective. 

 At this time we're going to turn our thoughts to what's ahead in 2008. After all, we know already it's going to be a bigger year on all fronts. 

 We're facing a year of big time politics.  It's a milestone election year no matter how you look at it. First, there's the revised primary season which has been all bunched up into the first few months of the year. The nominees of the two big political parties may already be decided by February. And no matter who the nominees are, it will be the first time since 1952 that neither will be an incumbent president or vice-president.  The good news is that we have only a year left of President Doofus and his disastrous presidency. We may have already passed the tipping point on so many things, but we're hopeful that a new president (a Democrat, please!) will try and do a big course correction.

 Mainstream entertainment is going to be significantly changed no matter when the writers' strike ends. You can definitely look forward (if that's a correct term) to more reality shows and greed-oriented game shows as the first run dramas and comedies run out of new episodes.

 The Olympics will take place this summer in China and given the currently tense global political climate, it could either be a pivotal moment in time or merely a time-out. 

 We'll get to what's ahead in male erotica in a moment, but first we'd like to focus in on those hot guys in the mainstream media---names to whom you may want to pay attention in ther coming months. 

 Ryan Barry--Yep, Reichen's boyfriend is the new Armani Exchange underwear model, having won the online competition. We're pretty sure that he already would have achieved success, but this A/X role guarantees it. We have no vested interest in their relationship (other than meeting Reichen at a book signing), but we hope they're the real deal. 

 Rusty Joiner--Our favorite fitness model turned actor has been appearing on more commercials lastely. Couldthis be a breakthrough year for him?

 Tuc Watkins--Will his current stint on Desperate Housewives translate into new roles for one of our favorites beyond his role on One Life to Live?

 Seann William Scott--We've been waiting so long for Southland Tales (due this year?) and still are holding out hope that this is his this hunk's year.

 Quentin Elias--French singer who could easily ditch the music biz and go into modelling--SUPER HOT.

 Steve Jones--Brit mag Heat recently listed their top hunks of 2007 (Beckham was #1) and their #2 is probably someone you've never heard of---Steve Jones. He's a TV presenter, model and co-host of weekend TV magazine T4. This Welsh born stud has gotten good press recently---and we can see why!

 While we're at it, we took a look at the rest of the top hunks on the Heat magazine list and it's worth mentioning that there are quite a few sexy men that you probably haven't heard of that we should list too:

 #3.  Howard Donald --from boy band Take That 
 #4.  Rupert Penry-Jones-- blond TV actor from Spooks (where he often goes nude)
 #5.  Jason Orange--another Take That member- and HOT bod.
 #6.  Gethin Jones--TV presenter who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing (Brit version of Dancing With the Stars)
 #7.  Jake Gyllenhaal--At last a US rep!
 #8.  Will Young--Brit popster who won the first Pop Idol competition.
 #9.  Milo Ventimiglia--We guess the Brits love this Heroes star too!
#10. Wentworth Miller--So it's official--the Brits like our TV stars too.
 As for male erotica, we've already seen how the explosion of amateur sites and their  increase in popularity and quality has are an impact. Major studios have pulled out all the stops to not only produce event-style movies, but to look for new talent on these amateur sites. You might even say that some of these amateur sites have gotten so good that they have become a whole new genre. 

  The competition among internet sites benefited the consumer in 2007 and it looks to continue in 2008. The year ended with more and more sites dropping their "DRM protection" which in essence means that their videos will be more accessible. MAC users will able to view what their PC buds have been able to enjoy, and PC users will be able to watch their favorites with greater freedom than ever. 

  While mainstream porn has borrowed from internet sites for their actors, you'll be seeing more "pro" actors pop up on internet sites. In addition we're willing to be that you'll be seeing much more story and fantasy elements used on internet and amateur sites. 

 Many sites have started and will continue to make their sites much easier to navigate and provide better information on their content. It's a necessity to get those new viewers.

 We're also going to go out on a limb here by predicting that you'll be seeing more pay-per-view options for internet sites. We are already aware of one site ManifestMen that will soon have an online store for non-members who wish to watch and/or purchase site content without joining.

  More specifically here's what's in store (at least as far as we know) for some of the sites we feature at JackManly:

 FratMen and FratPad:
  The FratPad location has moved to a new secret location (you can read all about it on an earlier blog) and there promises to be a lot more excitement this year (if such a thing is possible)--including new faces. After increasing the video length and quality at FratMen, we've noticed that they are doing more two-man videos. We think it's a trend towards some very interesting and hot videos.

Randy Blue:
  The site has already increased the number of videos per week on the site to four (including the LIVE shows)and  it looks like the content of the videos will be more varied too . We've already seen some more fantasy style videos and we're sure their popularity will mean you'll be seeing more in 2008.

 Sean Cody:
  Sean Cody looks like they've dropped DRM from their videos also, but we'll be waiting to see whether that's permanent or not. Right now, it makes the enjoyment of their videos so easy. Sean Cody took a few more risks this year by doing several location videos which we think were their hottest. If they were as popular as we believe, we predict there will be lots more "outside" the studio features.

All-American Heroes:
  The site has made such a big leap in ease of site navigation and you now geta much better idea of what';s new and what's in store on the site. It loks like you'll be seeing more appearances by several popular performers including the ever-present Brodie.

Men at Play:
 Francesco D'Macho was such a fan of this "men in suits" fetish site that he actually asked to join and be a part of the action. So it looks like another manistream star will join the line-up here right away. We think Men at Play has been an overlooked site and predict more people are going to discover this gem.

Mighty Men:
 One of the first amateur sites is already in the process of putting up new content and making its presence known once again. Host Jon Royce was the first to discover Reese Rideout, Chris Rockway, and Sean Steel so we look forward to seeing who he plans on introducing next.

 Here are some new sites that may be coming your way in 2008:

 Mason Wyler: This popular stud who has appeared in studio productions and on amateur sites has made an announcement to have his own site. In spite of some problems (check out the Trials of Mason Wyler series of blog posts here) he's going right ahead with his plans. The site will feature Mason having a good ol' time with his own series of non-professionals. 

 Johnny Castle: He's already planning on his own site which we assume will be solo scenes (maybe some guy/girl action), webcam shows and probably a gallery. 

   There's also a friend of JackManly that is in the process of launching a new amateur site within the next few months. We aren't at liberty to divulge the name of the site just yet, but we already know that the site host has great taste and skill as a filmmmaker so you can expect a high quality site from the very beginning. Look for an announcement soon.
