More Additions...

Billy Bean Ian Roberts
Ok, so it's our perogative to make some additions to our Top Ten lists. If you recall we didn't even keep our list to ten when it came to non-gay studs. With that in mind we decided to add some more names to our top out celebrities. Some are men that foolishly slipped our minds, others were on our previous "honorable mention" list.
So there. We make the rules (if any) and don't want limit ourselves to standard formats.
Ian Roberts---Talk about dispelling stereotypes! This big muscled former Australian rugby player took the bold step of coming out while he was still a player and never looked back. He's become a model and actor (you might just miss him in his role as henchman in Superman Returns) and is now living in California (yay!). He's had his share of hard knocks but keeps on going--what a man!
Chad Allen--We feel he deserves a bit more than honorable mention. He's gone successfully from child actor to who to his co-starring role in Dr Quinn Medicine Woman and after the series ended he came out (this bold step came with his honest acknowledgment of substance abuse). Among his many accomplishments he is a strong gay rights advocate, he co-founded the Creative Outlet Theatre Company, and received critical praise for his role in End of the Spear . He continues acting in many gay film projects (including original here! productions such as detective mysteries Third Man Out and Shock to the System) and has his own production company.

Lance Bass--Former NSync Boy band member, Bass has seemingly always been in the celebrity spotlight and had to endure a highly scrutinized coming out while dating (and breaking up with) reality star Reichen. He's also been awarded an HRC Visibility Award and recently told his story in the best-seller Out Of Sync

Billy Bean--Another of the very few male sports celebrities to come out, baseballer Bean revealed all (including homophobia in professional sports) in his book Going the Other Way. Since then he has become a human rights advocate, panelist on I've Got a Secret and board member of the Gay & Lesbian Athletics Foundation. One of the truly genuinely nice people JackManly has been privileged to meet.

The good news is that we don't have enough room here to include the many celebrities and behind the scenes power players that are out and proud advocates and whom continue to set examples for all. All you have to do is check the yearly Out Magazine Out 100 to see how many.
