One Day You're In, The Next You're Out

Yvonne Buschbaum Benjamin Nicholas
Yes, it's Heidi Klum's signature line on Project Runway, but it also has significance to all the juicy news lately.
Item one: Good news.
In his Myspace blog, Mason Wyler announced he's going forward with his website plans despite a run-in with Canadian bureaucracy. He managed to purchase his quality video camera and has already shot some footage. Apparently, he did something in the video he's never done before, but.....we'll have to wait until spring to see it. (oddly, this blog entry has been replaced by one featuring Mason's other half starting a Q & A--huh?)
Item two: Bad news for the scandal-weary right-wing/Good news for us.
When Trent Lott suddenly announced his plans to resign at the end of the year, the question was why now when his term isn't even up till next year? Well it's been reported that good ol' boy and right-wing gash-basher may have his own Larry Craig type scandal --and that it's about to bubble to the surface. Would you believe Trent Lott was a client (ewww) of male prostitute/columnist/blogger Benjamin Nicholas?? Seem hard to swallow (so to speak)?
Consider these developments:
When the BigHead DC blog reported the rumors, Benjamin Nicholas made lots of cryptic remarks such as he didn't want add to Lott's woes and because of his "professionalism" he wished to issue no comment. However, Nicholas couldn't just issue a firm denial. Instead issued a very carefully worded ono-denial denial saying he and Lott had no "current affiliation with one another". Huh? "Current"?
Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, who already has many hypocritical Republicans heading for the exits, has confirmed that his magazine will soon reveal the real reason why Trent Lott is resigning.
Trent Lott was strangely silent during the Larry Craig scandal. For good reason. He and Craig are "close friends"
Item three: Who's out.
Patricia Cornwell, mystery writer who's had to contend with scandal and rumor over the past few years finally came out. In a British newspaper interview she confirmed she is a lesbian and is married to a
Dr Staci Gruber. Now that she's in a committed relationship she feels more outraged than ever about the illegality of it in other states.
Olympic athlete German Yvonne Buschbaum is going to retire as an athlete and... as a woman! She's going to become a man. On her website she says "I feel as if I am a man and have to live my life in the body of a woman. I am aware of the fact that transsexuality is a fringe issue, and I do not want to be responsible for it remaining on the fringe. Although she has denied ever taking performance-hancing drugs and hormones, we guess she can do so now!
Item four: Who's NOT out.
Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) firmly denied his being gay in the German edition of InStyle in spite of continuing rumors and his being spotted with T R Knight's ex. Here's the emphatic quote: "I'm not gay, but that rumor can't be killed."
French Tennis player Richard Gasquet denied being gay but had a hard time making anyone believe it in a post-match interview where he was questioned about his sexuality. When asked whether a girl watching the match with his uncle was his date he replied : "Not my girl. I don’t know. Not my girl, for sure. No, no, no, I have just friends. Men friends, but I’m not gay."

Item five: Who's neither in nor out but...
Anderson Cooper, the well-estasblished newsman who makes hearts flutter was on Ellen and talked about his addiction to reality shows. One of his faves is MTV's Tiara Girls and he dishes that show and Paul Abdul's defunct show like Kathy Griffin in her stand-up routine.
Jake Gyllenhaal, who also has been making gay hearts go pitty pat since playing gay in Brokeback Mountain has been cast as one of the biggest hetero sex symbols of the 60s----Joe Namath. The quarterback (he was known as "Broadway Joe") for the NY Jets made a big splash in sports (he cockily predicted his team's Super Bowl win) and became a celebrity/playboy. He made product endorsements galore including a famous pantyhose ad for which he shaved his legs and wore the product. Will Jake do the same?
Speaking of dear gay-man-lovin' Kathy. Her special premieres on Thursday night on Bravo! With a title like Kathy Griffin: Straight to Hell you know we'll be watching.
